Dyno Run - BHP Results and Power Increase Services

Dyno Centre The Company has carried out a significant and major investment in acquiring a Dyno Dynamics full multi vehicle four wheel drive adjustable rolling road test facility incorporating the latest in dyno tuning from the worlds most well respected manufacturer of this type of specialist equipment.
The 3600 brake horse power 4500 ftlb torque dyno dynamics four wheel drive rolling road facility with twin retarders and adjustable bed housed in a purpose built specially designed and engineered dyno cell within our own main facility.
The cell has been designed using state of the art airflow and acoustics technology. Aerodynamics and Thermodynamics have also been applied to produce a cell capable of maintaining a consistent and controllable temperature throughout the testing process.
This testing facility will enable power and torque testing, steady state engine mapping and specialist high performance tuning along with a host of other services from fault diagnosis to Aerodynamics within this controlled environment.
The cell has been designed to flow a sheet of air across the car at an adjustable rate of between 20,000- 60,000cfm with a velocity of 4ms this coupled with adjustable plenum technology will allow air to be flowed at varying rates and angles across the vehicle to simulate differing road conditions. Whilst the vehicle is being tested we have an additional 30,000 cfm radiator and intercooler fans, these are used to further simulate real road conditions and keep the vehicle at safe operating temperatures at all times during testing.
Sound reduction technology has been incorporated in the design in the form of intake attenuators which not only direct the air flow across the vehicle but reduce the noise from 115db to just 55db.
This fabulous new facility is one of a small number of such test facilities in Europe and the only one of its kind with adjustable plenum chamber extraction technology for maximum temperature control within the cell.
In addition to this the full dyno testing facility can be viewed from the lounge and showroom immediately adjacent.
Dyno Tuning
Along with the specification of our fourwheel drive rolling road, the Dyno also provides diagnostics of the vehicle whilst under test.
Recorded parameters include the following:
- Brake horse power at flywheel and wheels
- Torque
- Road speed
- Engine speed
- Air fuel ratio or Lambda
- Manifold Vacuum or boost values
- Inlet temperatures
- HC,O 2 ,CO,CO 2 ,NO x
- Deisel opacity
- Automatic temperature compensation
- Automatic compensation, barometric pressure, relative humidity etc.
Snap shot data aquisition.
These facilities allow the operator to automatically take snapshots of any of the above details anytime during vehicle testing and these are then recorded and used in diagnostic mode. This helps to identify repairs carried out, modifications made or which settings have changed.
Finally allow us to put one myth to rest, that of tyre slip!
Our competitors, who do not own one of these awsome machones, constantly bitch about tyre slip on a rolling road dyno, and that hub dyno's or road mapping are best. Well they would say that wouldn't they.
